Internet, Mobile Banking Updates

We are pleased to announce a security and system update to your Internet and Mobile Banking accounts. This upgrade will be implemented in August and is based on new government requirements to make online banking even more secure. If you're an Internet or Mobile Banking user, please take a moment to review the following information.

What to Expect After the Upgrade

The first time you log in to Internet Banking following the upgrade, you will be guided through an easy enrollment process. Enrollment typically takes less than five minutes to complete.

Enrollment Process

  1. If your existing username and password do not meet the new criteria (see below), you will be prompted to update them. Most current usernames and passwords already meet the new criteria.
  2. All users will be asked to verify that the existing contact methods (phone or email) for receiving a one-time verification code are valid. If no contact methods currently exist, you will be prompted to provide at least one.

New Username Requirements:

  • Must be between six and 20 characters
  • Must contain at least one letter
  • Can contain numbers and/or these special characters: @ $ * _ - = . ! ~

New Password Requirements:

  • Must be between six and 32 characters
  • Must contain a combination of at least two of the following categories:
    • Letters
    • Numbers
    • Special characters

What's Changing?

  • Challenge questions – These are being discontinued for security purposes. Please note: After the upgrade, you will no longer be able to use challenge questions to gain access to your accounts. You must provide valid contact methods to receive an automated text, voice, or email message in order to receive a one-time verification code whenever you log in to Internet Banking from an unrecognized computer or device.
  • Main menu – This has been redesigned and reorganized.
  • Original account summary page – This will no longer be available.
  • User Options – Screens have been simplified via the new My Profile link.
  • Contact Information – This will be easier to find via the new Support link.
  • Timeout – This will now be 10 minutes for all users.
  • Internet Explorer 7 – Support for this version will be discontinued.

System Updates

Along with the updates mentioned above, there are important changes happening behind the scenes as well. These changes will help increase security and reliability. In the event the system does experience an interruption, recovery will be more rapid and robust. In addition, the system has been re-written to take advantage of the latest technology and will be the foundation for offering new services and functionality in the future.

What Can I Do To Prepare?

No action is required on your part at this time. The system will walk you through the necessary steps the first time you log in after the upgrade. However, if necessary, you can prepare now by updating your username, password, and contact information to meet the new security requirements using the User Options link located within your Internet Banking account.

Tips for Using Surcharge-Free ATMs

You may already know Pittsford FCU is part of the CO-OP ATM Network, giving members access to more than 30,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide. But did you know locating one of these ATMs is as easy as texting your street address, zip code, or city and state to 692667? Save this number in your smart phone contacts to use when traveling out of the area, or visit PittsfordFCU.org/ATM for other location tools.

Absolutely Surcharge-Free

When you use an ATM with the CO-OP Network logo on it, you may be confused when it prompts you with a surcharge notice. Rest assured our agreement with the CO-OP ATM Network provides surcharge-free transactions to Pittsford FCU members. Say "yes" to the surcharge. When you check your receipt, you will see the surcharge was not actually added.



Member Appreciation Day

Join us for our annual Member Appreciation Day on Friday, July 26. We will be serving hot dogs, chips, drinks, and ice cream at both branches. Feel free to bring your friends, neighbors, or coworkers. Just in case the weather does not cooperate, our rain date is Friday, August 2.

Thank You, Pati Falzone

As we celebrate Pittsford FCU's 45th Anniversary, we'd like to also recognize Pati Falzone's 35th anniversary working with Pittsford FCU Members.

For the first couple of years, the Credit Union was small enough to be run by part-time volunteers. By 1971, the volunteers needed more support to provide services consistent with what a growing membership required. Pati was hired as the first paid employee of the Credit Union – a testament to Pittsford FCU's growth and financial viability.

It's fitting to note that Pati began her career in the 1970s when the importance of individualism and self expression continued to grow and women started to take greater roles in the workforce and in leadership. Pati has always had a unique style of helping members get ahead financially. She was offering a personal banking experience long before the term "personal banking" was coined. Her motto is "Members are the purpose of our work. They are not interruptions of it." Products and processes have changed considerably over the years, but Pati has magically maintained and instilled in her team members the special level of service that differentiates Pittsford FCU from all others.

During Pati's tenure, the credit union assets have grown 100 times larger, and we're privileged to have had Pati's expertise helping us overcome challenges and contribute to our success. Thank you, Pati!
