Fraud Alert - PFCU Phone Number Spoofing

Recently, there have been multiple occurrences of phone calls to members, from fraudsters, that appear as if they are calling from PFCU’s phone number (585-624-7474). The process of modifying caller-ID information to appear as if a caller is calling from a number that is not their own is called “spoofing.”

While misrepresenting their identity as being associated with PFCU, the fraudulent callers work to gain our members’ trust and obtain personal information, such as account numbers, Social Security numbers, addresses, online banking credentials, and more, under the guise of helping resolve a fictitious problem.

Remember: PFCU will never call you and ask for personal information such as your Social Security number, Debit/Credit card number, or Internet Banking sign-on information.

If you receive a call from a number that appears to be PFCU, do not disclose any of your personal information.
